Each year, our students spend their summers in Washington, D.C., across the nation, and around the world working in corporate, nonprofit, and government organizations. Meet a few of our students in this summer's Internship Spotlight Series.
Adam Lorente (MSF'20)
Investment Banking Summer Analyst, Johnson Rice & Co.
Washington, D.C.
What are you doing this summer?
I am working as an investment banking analyst for Johnson Rice & Co. This group focuses on the energy space and primarily offers public equity offerings advisory services.
How does your internship relate to your professional or personal interests?
This internship has given me the exposure I wanted into investment banking. I have learned a lot during my time at the firm, and I hope to push this experience into a career!
How did you find the internship?
I actually found this internship through my personal network. I had great advice from the MSF career center that propelled me to this position.
What's the most interesting or impactful aspect of your internship?
During my internship, I was exposed to a wide variety of deals that included M&A and equity offerings. However, the most interesting deal I worked on was a venture capital deal. I can't say too much on the deal, but I believe the product is something we will all use in the future, and I think it is cool to say that I worked on something like this.
Any advice for other finance students?
My advice is to just be hungry so to speak. When you have a career goal, do everything in your power to make it happen, and be persistent with the recruitment process. Lastly, enjoy yourself a little bit during the process.
