Washington, D.C. – Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business has been ranked as the No. 1 undergraduate school for Investment Bankers and No. 3 for Finance Professionals by LinkedIn. Bolstered by the recent launch of the online Master of Science in Finance (MSF), the McDonough School of Business has positioned itself as a leading institution within a competitive discipline.
Georgetown University graduates have some of the best chances for favorable outcomes in the field of investment banking and finance, according to the business-oriented social media site. Georgetown ranked third in finance, beating out several traditional finance-focused schools.
“More than ever, students go to college because they want to get jobs — good jobs. To that end, students and parents want to know which schools give them the best chance at getting a desirable job after graduation. This is where we can help,” stated Navneet Kapur, a LinkedIn Sr. Data Scientist who led the recent ranking project.
LinkedIn analyzed the site’s more than 300 million users’ career paths to determine which professional vocations offered desirable career paths, despite a challenging global economy. From there, LinkedIn tracked the percentage of students at major colleges and universities who graduated in the past eight years and obtained desirable jobs, and then ranked universities in each of eight categories: accounting professionals, designers, finance professionals, investment bankers, marketers, media professionals, software developers, and software developers at startups.
