Allen AmmermanDr. Ammerman is an Assistant Teaching Professor and Director of Academic Operations for the Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program at the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business. Prior to his appointment at Georgetown University, Dr. Ammerman taught courses in corporate finance and valuation at West Texas A&M University. Additionally, Dr. Ammerman has over 10 years of financial management experience working in the for-profit, non-profit, and governmental sectors.

Dr. Ammerman’s research is focused on issues in household finance and private wealth management. Dr. Ammerman has been invited to present at several national conferences and has authored several articles for publication. Dr. Ammerman has won awards for his innovative approach to researching household finance, including the 2018 Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE) Outstanding Research Journal Article of the Year, and the CFP Board Financial Planning Paper Award at the 2017 meeting of the American Council on Consumer Interests (ACCI).

Dr. Ammerman earned a B.M. in Music from the University of Cincinnati in 2006, an M.B.A. from Webster University in 2011, an M.S. in Finance from Georgetown University in 2017, and a Ph.D. in Personal Financial Planning from Kansas State University in 2017.
