Elizabeth SweeneyElizabeth “Liz” Sweeney serves as Executive in Residence for Government, Healthcare, and Nonprofit Finance on the EIR Team. An expert in municipal finance, health care finance, and in advising non-profits about public debit and capital markets, Liz leads the public finance community of practice and oversees projects for the MSF Summer Clinics. In addition to her work with the MSF, Ms. Sweeney currently serves as the founder of Nutshell Associates, a small consulting firm that helps public finance debt issuers interact confidently with the capital markets to maximize ratings and investor confidence. Prior to joining the EIR Team, Liz held several positions, including Managing Director, with S&P Global Ratings, the world’s largest credit rating agency. Liz holds an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business, a BS from Georgetown University, and a Certificate in Healthcare Management from NYU’s School of Professional Studies. Liz is also a member of the XBRL State and Local Government Disclosure Modernization working group, a collaborative effort to bring modern financial reporting standards to the municipal market.
